THE ALLANDALE
WINE OFFER FOR 2009
Dear colleagues, friends and fellow architects,
It has been quite a while since you were invited
to join us in purchasing a “Parker Dozen” of wines from
Allandale Winery in the Hunter Valley. Quite a number of our supporters
took part in this initiative and many placed additional orders afterwards.
Obviously we had selected some good Hunter wines.
Recently, I have been able to negotiate a further
selection of quality Hunter Valley wines from Allandale and now
have pleasure in recommending them to you.
The enclosed tasting notes describe the wines
in more detail and I have enclosed an order form so that you might
take advantage of our latest offer. Allandale Wines will make a
significant donation to the Architecture Foundation for every case
of wine which they will deliver directly to you after I receive
and process your order.
So, by enjoying some top quality Hunter wines
at prices well below the regular retail cost, you are also supporting
to the work of this Foundation and assisting The Parker Fellowship
to remain both unique and the most lucrative of any available to
an Architecture student in Australia.
If you would like to order a case, or more, please
click here to download the order form, and return the form and
your full payment to:
The Architecture Foundation
PO Box 2348
Dangar NSW 2309.
Your order will be hastily processed.
Please make cheques payable to Allandale Winery.
Your wine order will be delivered directly from
the Allandale Winery to your nominated address.
Return only the completed order form and your
full payment.

ALLANDALE WINE NOTES
2004 Cabinet Shiraz
Deal price: $125.00/case
A classic Australian blend of two varietals sourced from several
well established vineyards. The wine was fermented in open fermenters
and hand plunged before ageing in French and American oak barriques.
Spicy plum Shiraz flavours compliment the berry fruit and fine tannin
finish from the Cabernet component. Ideal with lamb roast or veal
cutlets.
2006 Epitome
Deal price: $125.00/case
This is a unique blend of 4 varieties, all grown in the Hunter
Valley. It is a wine of great interest and complexity, the epitome
of the art of blending. Chardonnay, which is the predominant variety
gives the wine body, Semillon adds crisp / herbaceous characters,
Verdelho gives a generous nose and fruit flavours and Sauvignon
Blanc freshens the blend. The resulting wine shows peach and tropical
fruit characters underscored by delicate French oak. The palate
is rich and full with a crisp, dry finish. Best enjoyed young with
dishes such as chicken ravioli.
NV Lombardo
Deal price: $175.00/case
Predominantly made from Pinot Noir grapes, Lombardo is a light
soft red. The black grapes used in Lombardo are given minimal skin
contact & cold fermented to retain varietal character. The nose
displays lifted strawberry characters typical of Pinot Noir while
some residual sweetness makes for an easy drinking style. In summer
it is ideally served chilled. Lombardo is meant to be consumed without
extended cellaring. Dangerously drinkable!
